The name Rephidim means "resting places," "stays," or "supports" in Hebrew. It is a biblical place associated with a season of testing, provision, and victory during the Israelites’ journey through the wilderness. Symbolically, it represents a place of restoration and renewal, where challenges become opportunities for growth, resilience, and renewed purpose.
Rephidim is a sanctuary for individuals experiencing homelessness, offering a place of rest, healing, and recuperation. Designed for oasis landscapes and valleys, it enables communities to thrive in harmony with the natural environment. Buildings are thoughtfully positioned within the landscape to create welcoming spaces that support conservation activities and foster community engagement.
The site also features a learning and development hub comprising an art centre, sports facilities, and a greenhouse, providing opportunities for skill development, personal growth, and recreation. At the heart of Rephidim are clustered residential cells, each representing different housing models that cater to diverse needs. These clusters encourage the formation of close-knit communities while maintaining a strong connection to nature, creating an environment that promotes belonging, resilience, and sustainable living.
